Amoxicillin 500 mg + Clavulanic acid 100 mg (as potassium clavulanate) per vial (for injection)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as lower/upper respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynecological infections, bone and joint infections; used when parenteral therapy is required.
Amoxicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and extending its antibacterial spectrum.
For intravenous use only, to be reconstituted and administered by a healthcare professional. Dose and frequency depend on infection severity, renal function and local guidelines; may be given with or without food (not applicable for IV). Complete the prescribed course.
Common side effects of AUGPEN 600MG INJ VIAL may include:
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of amoxicillin-clavulanate–associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. Use with caution in hepatic impairment, renal impairment (dose adjustment needed), infectious mononucleosis (higher rash risk). Monitor for severe allergic reactions, C. difficile–associated diarrhea, and liver function abnormalities. Not effective for viral infections.
