Azithromycin 200 mg/5 mL oral suspension (30 mL)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as throat/tonsil infections, sinusitis, ear infections (otitis media), bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections; also used for certain typhoid and sexually transmitted infections as prescribed.
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This stops bacterial growth and helps the immune system clear the infection.
Oral suspension: Shake well before use. Measure dose with a dosing cup/syringe and take exactly as prescribed (often once daily). Can be taken with or without food; take with food if stomach upset occurs. Complete the full course even if you feel better; do not skip doses.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Azicob XL Suspen 200MG. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use only for bacterial infections (not for viral cold/flu). Inform doctor if you have liver disease, history of jaundice with antibiotics, severe kidney disease, myasthenia gravis, heart rhythm problems/long QT, low potassium/magnesium, or allergy to macrolides. Stop and seek care if severe diarrhea (possible C. difficile), signs of allergic reaction (swelling, breathing difficulty), or severe skin rash occur. Dose adjustments may be needed in hepatic impairment; use cautiously in elderly and those at risk of arrhythmias.
