Azithromycin 100 mg (Dispersible Tablet)
Bacterial infections such as throat/tonsil infections, ear infections (otitis media), sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections; used in children as per doctor’s advice.
Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This stops bacterial growth and helps the immune system clear the infection.
Dispersible tablet: dissolve the tablet in a small amount of water and give immediately as directed by the doctor. Can be taken with or without food (taking after food may reduce stomach upset). Complete the full prescribed course; dose is usually based on body weight in children.
Common side effects of AZUMIN 100DT may include:
Use only for bacterial infections (not viral colds/flu). Use with caution in liver disease, history of jaundice with azithromycin, myasthenia gravis, or heart rhythm disorders (QT prolongation). Stop and seek care for severe diarrhea, allergic reactions, or signs of liver problems (yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine). Not recommended in known macrolide allergy.
