Amoxicillin 200 mg + Clavulanic acid 28.5 mg per 5 ml oral suspension (DS)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as ear infections (otitis media), sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections.
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from breakdown by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, broadening its antibacterial activity.
Oral suspension. Shake well before each dose and measure with a calibrated spoon/cup. Usually given with food to reduce stomach upset; follow the doctor’s prescribed dose based on body weight and severity. Complete the full course; do not stop early. Reconstitute as per label directions (add boiled and cooled water up to the mark).

Prescription-only antibiotic; use only for bacterial infections. Do not use in patients with allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins. Use with caution in liver disease; may cause hepatitis/cholestatic jaundice (seek care if yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine). Dose adjustment may be needed in kidney impairment. Prolonged use may cause superinfection (fungal/other). Stop and seek urgent help for severe allergic reaction (swelling, breathing difficulty) or severe diarrhoea (possible C. difficile).
