Cefixime 200 mg + Lactic Acid Bacillus (probiotic) (strength not specified)
Bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis), ear infections (otitis media), urinary tract infections, and typhoid fever (as prescribed). Probiotic component helps prevent antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Lactic Acid Bacillus is a probiotic that helps restore normal gut flora and may reduce diarrhoea during/after antibiotic therapy.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken once daily or as advised; can be taken with or without food (take with food if stomach upset occurs). Swallow tablet whole with water and complete the full course even if you feel better.
Common side effects of C-FIX 200 LB TAB may include:
Use only for bacterial infections; not effective for viral illnesses. Do not use if allergic to cefixime/other cephalosporins; caution if history of severe penicillin allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed) and in history of colitis/antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Seek urgent care for severe rash, facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or persistent/severe diarrhoea.
