How Capi ORS 100 ml works

ORS provides a balanced mix of glucose and electrolytes that enhances sodium and water absorption from the intestine via glucose-sodium co-transport. This helps restore body fluids and correct electrolyte loss during dehydration.

How to take Capi ORS 100 ml

Oral solution. Shake well if applicable. Give small frequent sips; for children, use a spoon/cup and continue feeding/breastfeeding. Dose depends on age/weight and degree of dehydration; use as advised by a doctor. If vomiting occurs, pause 5–10 minutes and restart slowly. Discard if contaminated; follow label guidance for use after opening.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Capi ORS as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Capi ORS than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Capi ORS 100 ml

Most side effects of Capi ORS are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Seek medical help if severe dehydration, blood in stool, persistent vomiting, high fever, very low urine output, lethargy, or symptoms last >24 hours (children) or >48 hours (adults). Use with caution in kidney disease, heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension, or patients on sodium/potassium restricted diets. Do not use as sole treatment for severe dehydration—may require IV fluids. Not for mixing with soft drinks/juice if meant to be used as-is; follow label instructions.

Interactions with other medicines

Potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride), ACE inhibitors/ARBs (risk of high potassium in susceptible patients), NSAIDs (may worsen kidney function in dehydration)
