How Cefdox-Cv Tablet works

Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefpodoxime from breakdown by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, helping extend its antibacterial coverage.

Most side effects of Cefdox-Cv are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use only for bacterial infections. Inform doctor if you have history of allergy to penicillins/cephalosporins or severe allergy. Use with caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment may be needed). Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Space the doses evenly and complete the course. Keep the reconstituted syrup as the pharmacist instructed and discard it after the stated number of days. Space the doses evenly through the day so the level stays steady. Take a probiotic a few hours apart if loose motions trouble you, and drink plenty of fluids. Never use a leftover antibiotic, or someone else's, for a new illness.
