Uses of Cefpen 200 Tab

Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, acute otitis media, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, community-acquired pneumonia/acute bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and skin/soft tissue infections.

How it works

Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death. It is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria susceptible to cephalosporins.

Directions for use

Tablet: take as prescribed by the physician, usually with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; complete the full course even if you feel better. Dose and duration depend on infection type and kidney function.
