Claribid 500 mg Tablet

Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).

In Bacterial infection

Claribid stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply, so the body's defences can clear the infection.

In Chest infection

Claribid treats chest infections, including the 'atypical' bacteria some other antibiotics miss, easing the cough and fever.

In Throat infection

Claribid clears the bacteria behind a sore throat and tonsillitis, and is often chosen for people allergic to penicillin.

In Skin infection

Claribid treats bacterial infections of the skin and soft tissue, reducing redness, swelling and pain.

It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet.

PregnancyUNSAFE

Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.<br/>Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breast feedingSAFE

Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.<br/>There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.

DrivingSAFE

Not expected to affect your ability to drive.

KidneyCAUTION

Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

LiverCONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Claribid OD 500 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
