Clobazam 10 mg
Treatment of anxiety disorders (short-term); adjunct treatment of epilepsy/seizure disorders (e.g., Lennox-Gastaut syndrome) as prescribed
Clobazam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA in the brain by acting on GABA-A receptors. This reduces excessive nerve activity, producing anxiolytic and anticonvulsant effects.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Swallow tablet with water; do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered under medical supervision.
Common side effects of CLOBAKEM 10 may include:
May cause sedation, dizziness and impaired driving/operating machinery. Risk of dependence, tolerance and withdrawal—do not stop abruptly. Use caution in elderly, depression, history of substance misuse, respiratory disease/sleep apnea, liver impairment. Avoid other CNS depressants (including opioids) due to risk of severe sedation/respiratory depression. May increase suicidal thoughts/behavior in some patients; monitor. Use only on prescription.
