Combiflam Suspension contains Ibuprofen (100mg) + Paracetamol (162.5mg). It belongs to the Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and Para-aminophenol derivative class of medicines.

How to take Combiflam Suspension

Shake well before use, measure the dose accurately using the provided measuring cup, administer every 6-8 hours as needed

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Combiflam are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Do not take Combiflam if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.

Interactions with other medicines

Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Regular alcohol use increases the risk of liver injury. Tell your doctor if you are on warfarin — regular high-dose paracetamol can affect it.

Combiflam Suspension is used to reduce pain as well as fever in children and infants. Maintain a log of your child’s temperature. If you do not see any improvement, contact your child’s doctor for advice. Give plenty of fluids to your child, if diarrhea occurs as a side-effect. Never give any other medicine formulation containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Stop the medicine and consult your child’s doctor in case your child exhibits allergic rash or stomach pain soon after taking this medicine. If Combiflam Suspension does not seem to be helping your child, contact your doctor for advice. Do not give extra doses.
