Diclofenac sodium 75 mg/3 mL injection (aqueous solution)
Short-term treatment of acute pain and inflammation such as postoperative pain, musculoskeletal pain, acute low back pain, renal colic, acute exacerbations of arthritis when oral therapy is not suitable.
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and thereby decreasing pain, inflammation and fever.
For intramuscular (deep IM) injection or slow IV infusion/injection only, as prescribed by a doctor. Usually given for short duration; switch to oral/rectal forms as soon as possible. Do not self-administer; follow dose, dilution (for infusion), and frequency advised by healthcare professional.
Common side effects of DICLOGAIN AQ INJECTION may include:
Contraindicated in allergy to diclofenac/other NSAIDs, history of NSAID-induced asthma/urticaria, active peptic ulcer or GI bleeding, severe heart failure, and in the peri-operative period of CABG surgery. Use with caution in elderly, hypertension, heart disease, kidney or liver impairment, asthma, dehydration, and patients with history of ulcers/bleeding. NSAIDs may increase risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events and serious GI bleeding/ulceration; use lowest effective dose for shortest duration. Monitor renal function, blood pressure, and signs of GI bleeding.
