Dicloran A Tablet contains Diclofenac (50mg) + Paracetamol (325mg). It belongs to the NSAID + Analgesic/Antipyretic class of medicines.

How Dicloran A Tablet works

Diclofenac is an NSAID that inhibits COX enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis to relieve pain and inflammation. Paracetamol acts centrally to reduce pain and fever, providing added analgesic effect.

How to take Dicloran A Tablet

Tablet: Take as prescribed by a doctor, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not exceed the recommended dose or duration.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Dicloran A Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Dicloran A are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

NSAIDs can cause stomach ulcer/bleeding and may increase cardiovascular risk; use lowest effective dose for shortest duration. Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease, kidney disease, liver disease, asthma/NSAID allergy, hypertension, heart disease, and elderly. Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs or additional paracetamol-containing products. Seek medical help for black stools, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, breathlessness, swelling, rash, or yellowing of eyes/skin.

Do not take Dicloran A if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision.

Alcohol, anticoagulants (warfarin), antiplatelets (aspirin, clopidogrel), SSRIs/SNRIs, corticosteroids, other NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors/ARBs, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus
