How Faronem Syrup works

Faronem Syrup is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

How to take Faronem Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Faronem Syrup may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Faronem Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Faronem than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Faronem Syrup

Most side effects of Faronem are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Faronem Syrup

Store Faronem below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Faronem Syrup helps treat severe bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infection, skin infections and gynaecological infections. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Inform your doctor if you develop severe stomach pain or if you find blood in your stools. Your doctor may monitor your liver and kidney function while you are having treatment with this medication. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
