Composition of Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml contains Flurbiprofen. It belongs to the Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug class of medicines.

Uses of Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Arthritis
  • Fever
  • Period pain

Benefits of Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

In Pain
Fbn blocks the chemicals that cause pain at the site of an injury or inflammation, giving relief that is often stronger than paracetamol for pain with swelling.
In Inflammation
Fbn reduces the swelling, redness, heat and stiffness of an inflamed joint or injured tissue, so movement is easier.
In Arthritis
Fbn eases the pain and morning stiffness of arthritis, so joints move more freely and daily tasks become easier.
In Fever
Fbn lowers a raised temperature and relieves the aching that goes with it.
In Period pain
Fbn reduces the chemicals that make the womb cramp during a period, which is why it works well for period pain when taken as the pain begins.

How Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml works

Flurbiprofen blocks the chemicals your body makes at a site of injury or inflammation, which reduces pain, swelling and fever.

How to take Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull the lower lid down to make a small pocket and squeeze one drop into it, then close the eye gently for a minute. Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye, your fingers or any surface. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed one — applying extra does not make up for it.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

Most side effects of Fbn are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:

  • Indigestion
  • Stomach pain
  • Nausea
  • Heartburn
  • Dizziness
  • Swelling of the ankles and feet

Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy.

Do not take Fbn if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Interactions with other medicines

Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time.

How to store Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Discard the bottle one month after you first open it, even if some is left. Keep out of the reach of children.

Quick tips for Fbn Eye Drops 5 ml

  • Use the lowest dose for the shortest period.
  • If you need a painkiller regularly, see your doctor rather than continuing on your own.
  • Paracetamol is the safer choice for simple fever and headache.

People taking Fbn are often asked to check these from time to time. Your doctor decides which and how often.
