Econazole nitrate 5% w/w cream
Fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), ringworm (tinea corporis), cutaneous candidiasis, pityriasis (tinea) versicolor
Econazole is an imidazole antifungal. It inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death or growth inhibition.
For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer to the affected skin (and a small surrounding area) usually 1–2 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Continue for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve; wash hands after application.
Common side effects of FLONIDA 5% CREAM may include:
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose and broken skin unless advised. Do not use on large areas or under occlusive dressings for prolonged periods without medical advice. Stop and consult a doctor if severe irritation, swelling, blistering or allergic reaction occurs. If no improvement within 1–2 weeks or infection worsens, seek medical advice. Not meant for vaginal/ophthalmic use.
