Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults to improve blood sugar control, as an adjunct to diet and exercise; may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. It also helps improve the body’s response to insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow whole with water; do not skip meals after taking to reduce risk of low blood sugar.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Glimicure 4 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Risk of hypoglycaemia—more likely with missed meals, excess exercise, alcohol intake, elderly patients, kidney/liver impairment or with interacting medicines. Use with caution in renal/hepatic disease; periodic monitoring of blood glucose and HbA1c is advised. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Inform doctor if you have G6PD deficiency (risk of haemolysis) or if undergoing surgery/acute illness (dose adjustments may be needed).
