How Gride 4 mg Tablet works

Apriglim-M 4 Tablet Pr is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin.Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide which works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the bodys sensitivity to insulin.

How to take Gride 4 mg Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gride 4mg Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you missed a a dose of Gride 4mg Tablet, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time.

If you take too much

Taking more Gride than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Gride are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Gride 4 mg Tablet

Store Gride below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Gride 4 mg Tablet

Take Gride 4mg Tablet shortly before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) alongside. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking Gride 4mg Tablet. Gride 4mg Tablet can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Be careful while driving or operating machinery until you know how Gride 4mg Tablet affects you. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor and anxiety. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms, such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
