Histafree 120 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. It blocks the effects of a chemical called histamine, which is responsible for causing inflammation and its associated symptoms, such as itching, redness, swelling, and irritation.

How to take Histafree 120

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Histafree 120 Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Histafree 120 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe drowsiness, a fast heartbeat, confusion and, in children, agitation and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Older antihistamines cause marked drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this affects you. This relieves the symptoms of an allergy; it does not treat the cause, and it is not a treatment for an acute asthma attack. It should be taken only if prescribed by a doctor. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of sleepiness. Although this medicine is less likely to reach the brain and generally causes minimal sedation, alcohol may enhance its effects. Stop taking Histafree 120 Tablet at least 3 days before undergoing an allergy test. This medicine can affect the test results. If you have seasonal allergies, keep windows closed during high-pollen or high-wind periods. Take more care, especially in the early morning when pollen counts are typically highest. Stop taking the medication and contact your doctor immediately if you notice a rapid heartbeat, an irregular pulse, or palpitations.
