Itraconazole 100 mg capsules
Treatment of fungal infections such as dermatophytosis (tinea/ringworm), pityriasis versicolor, oral/vaginal candidiasis, and other susceptible systemic or superficial fungal infections as prescribed
Itraconazole is a triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal CYP450-dependent 14-α-demethylase, blocking ergosterol synthesis. This disrupts fungal cell membrane formation and inhibits fungal growth.
Capsule (oral): Take exactly as prescribed, usually once or twice daily. Take with food/after a full meal for better absorption; swallow whole and do not crush or chew. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Common side effects of ITZOFT 100MG CAPS 10S may include:
Prescription-only antifungal. May cause liver injury—seek medical help if jaundice, dark urine, severe fatigue, or persistent nausea occurs; monitor LFTs if prolonged use. Not recommended in patients with heart failure/ventricular dysfunction (negative inotrope risk). Avoid in pregnancy unless clearly needed; use effective contraception during and for a period after therapy as advised. Avoid use in severe liver disease unless supervised. Itraconazole absorption is reduced by acid-suppressing medicines; take as directed if needed.
