A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Kenz Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Kenz Tablet contains Ketoconazole (200mg).
Fungal infections
Kenz Tablet is an antifungal medication. It kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your fungal infection.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Kenz Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Kenz Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Kenz than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Kenz are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Kenz. Some combinations can change how Kenz works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Kenz below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Your doctor has prescribed Kenz Tablet to cure your infection and improve symptoms. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Take it with food, preferably at the same time every day. Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Kenz Tablet. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you experience an allergic reaction like skin rash, swelling of face and shortness of breath.
