How Lesuride Injection works

Lesuride Injection is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by increasing the release of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger). This increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, and prevents reflux (acid going up to the food pipe) as well as nausea or vomiting. Since it modulates the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract, it also improves delayed gastric emptying.

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Lesuride Injection

Most side effects of Lesuride are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, and those with a history of cardiac arrhythmias. Not recommended for patients with known hypersensitivity to ondansetron.

Do not take Lesuride if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with bleeding, blockage or perforation of the gut, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.

Interactions with other medicines

May interact with apomorphine, other serotonergic drugs, and drugs that affect the QT interval.

Store below 25°C, protect from light, and do not freeze.
