How to take Melan Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Melan 10mg Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Melan 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Expert advice for Melan Tablet

Melan 10mg Tablet is prescribed along with UV-A rays for the treatment of vitiligo and psoriasis. Take this treatment (methoxsalen and UVA) two or three times a week, with the treatment spaced at least forty-eight hours apart. Always take Melan 10mg Tablet 2 hours before UV radiation exposure, along with food or milk. Take a plain shower before your treatment to keep your skin clean, and pat dry. Do not use perfumes, aftershave, deodorants, or other cosmetics or toiletries while using Melan 10mg Tablet, as they can make your skin even more sensitive, leading to blistering. Use extra caution for at least 48 hours following each treatment. After each treatment, cover your skin for at least 8 hours by wearing protective clothing. Never take Melan 10mg Tablet in a dose higher than the prescribed dose, as it may cause burning or blistering of your skin after exposure to UV light.
