Use with caution in bipolar disorder/mania, epilepsy, liver or kidney impairment, glaucoma, bleeding disorders, and in elderly (risk of hyponatremia). Risk of serotonin syndrome especially with other serotonergic drugs. May cause QT prolongation at higher doses or in predisposed patients; caution in heart disease/electrolyte imbalance. May impair alertness—avoid driving if drowsy.
Do not take Nexito-20 mg if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be combined with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, or started within the gap your doctor specifies after one.
Interactions with other medicines
MAO inhibitors (contraindicated), linezolid/methylene blue, other serotonergic drugs (triptans, tramadol, lithium, tryptophan, St John’s wort), anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs (increased bleeding risk), other QT-prolonging drugs (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol, certain antipsychotics/macrolides), CYP2C19 inhibitors (e.g., omeprazole, esomeprazole) may increase levels, alcohol (additive CNS effects)
