How Nexstep-Gf Capsule works

Formoterol is a bronchodilator which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic which works by decreasing the secretions in the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.

Warnings and precautions

Know which of your inhalers is the reliever and which is the preventer. A preventer must be used every day even when you feel well; a reliever is for symptoms. Seek emergency care if your reliever is not working, if you cannot speak a full sentence, or if you are using the reliever far more often than usual. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after every steroid inhaler dose to prevent thrush and hoarseness. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to watch your technique — poor technique is the commonest reason an inhaler seems not to work. Use a spacer if one has been advised, particularly for children. This is a prescription-only medicine. Take it exactly as your doctor has directed, for the period directed. Do not share it with anyone else, even if their symptoms seem the same. Tell your doctor about every other medicine, supplement and herbal product you take. Report any unexpected or severe symptom to your doctor rather than stopping on your own.

Nexstep-GF 6mg/25mcg Capsule is a combination of two medicines that makes breathing easier for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This medicine is for inhalation only. The tablet should not be swallowed. It should be taken at the same time each day. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Take the first dose of this medicine under medical supervision as it may cause wheezing or tightening of the airways (bronchospasm) immediately after using. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help. Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood potassium levels as low oxygen levels in the blood (hypoxia) and COPD medicines such as Nexstep-GF 6mg/25mcg Capsule can lower potassium levels in blood.
