Nobel Spas Tablet contains DROTAVERINE-40MG+NIMESULIDE-100MG. It belongs to the Antispasmodic and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug class of medicines.
This medicine combines 2 active ingredients: Drotaverine and Nimesulide. Drotaverine relaxes the muscle in the wall of the gut, relieving the cramping pain of a spasm. Nimesulide blocks the chemicals your body makes at a site of injury or inflammation, which reduces pain, swelling and fever.
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it before meals or when cramps begin. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, confusion, blurred vision and difficulty passing urine. It can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Nobel Spas are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Not recommended in pregnancy — it may harm the developing baby. Tell your doctor at once if you are or might be pregnant. |
|---|---|
| Breastfeeding | Consult your doctor before using this while breastfeeding. |
| Alcohol | Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine. |
| Driving | May cause drowsiness or affect your concentration. Do not drive until you know how it affects you. |
| Kidney | Consult your doctor if you have kidney disease. |
| Liver | Not recommended if you have significant liver disease. |
| Habit forming | No |
Severe abdominal pain, particularly with fever or vomiting, needs a doctor rather than a painkiller or antispasmodic. May cause blurred vision and drowsiness — do not drive until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine. Take it with or just after food, and for the shortest time that works. Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Nimesulide must not be given to children under twelve, and courses are restricted to a few days because of the risk of liver injury. Stop and see a doctor at once if you notice yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine or persistent nausea.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with glaucoma, urinary retention, or a blockage of the gut. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Adds to the dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness caused by antihistamines and some antidepressants. Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
Take it when the cramps start rather than on a fixed schedule, unless your doctor has said otherwise. A warm compress and regular meals help cramping in irritable bowel syndrome. Use the lowest dose for the shortest period. If you need a painkiller regularly, see your doctor rather than continuing on your own. Paracetamol is the safer choice for simple fever and headache.
