Olmesartan Medoxomil (20mg) + Chlorthalidone (12.5mg)
Olmetrack Ct 12.5 mg Tablet is used for treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with single-drug therapy.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Olmetrack Ct 12.5 mg Tablet contains Olmesartan Medoxomil (20mg) + Chlorthalidone (12.5mg). It belongs to the Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) + Thiazide-like diuretic class of medicines.
Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II at AT1 receptors, lowering blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that increases salt and water excretion, reducing blood volume and vascular resistance. Together they provide additive blood pressure lowering.
Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water. Because it contains a diuretic, taking it in the morning may reduce nighttime urination; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Olmetrack CT 12.5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Olmetrack Ct than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Olmetrack Ct are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
