How Orlica works

Orlica Capsule is a lipase inhibitor. It works in the stomach and small intestine by blocking the absorption of fat from food by blocking enzymes responsible for the breakdown of fat.

How to take Orlica

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Orlica Capsule should be taken with or after food. Avoid Orlica Capsule with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Orlica Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may be harmful — seek medical advice immediately. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Orlica

Most side effects of Orlica are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Orlica

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Expert advice for Orlica

Orlica Capsule should be used along with regular physical activity and a healthy diet. Take it during or up to 1 hour after each meal. Skip your dose if you miss a meal or if your meal contains no fat. A multivitamin supplement containing vitamins A, D, and K is recommended when taking Orlica Capsule. It should not be taken for longer than six months. If you have been unable to lose weight after 12 weeks of taking this medicine, you should stop taking it and consult your doctor.
