Uses of Saaz-DS Tab 10S

Ulcerative colitis (induction and maintenance of remission), Crohn’s disease (colonic involvement, as advised), Rheumatoid arthritis (disease-modifying treatment)

How it works

Sulfasalazine is broken down in the colon to 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) and sulfapyridine. 5-ASA reduces inflammation in the bowel lining, while sulfapyridine contributes to immunomodulatory/anti-inflammatory effects useful in rheumatoid arthritis.

Directions for use

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Swallow tablet whole; do not crush or chew (delayed-release). Take after food with a full glass of water; maintain adequate hydration. Doses are usually divided through the day; follow your doctor’s schedule.
