Sitabite 50 Tablet contains Sitagliptin (50mg). It belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor (gliptin) class of medicines.

How Sitabite 50 Tablet works

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor. It increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP), which enhance glucose-dependent insulin release and reduce glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used alone.

How to take Sitabite 50 Tablet

Take by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day. Dose adjustment is required in kidney disease; do not stop or change dose without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If used with insulin or sulfonylureas, risk of low blood sugar increases—dose reduction of the other agent may be needed. Monitor for symptoms of heart failure in at-risk patients.
