How Supirocin B Plus 5 g works

Supirocin-B Plus Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Mupirocin and Beclometasone which treat skin infections. Mupirocin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria on the skin by destroying the bacterial cell membrane. Beclometasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

How to take Supirocin B Plus 5 g

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Supirocin-B Plus Ointment, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Supirocin B Plus than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

How to store Supirocin B Plus 5 g

Store Supirocin B Plus below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Supirocin-B Plus Ointment must be applied to the affected area as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry well. Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. Stop using Supirocin-B Plus Ointment and inform your doctor if you notice any irritation or any other skin infection. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
