Telmisartan (40mg)
Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-drug therapy is inadequate
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that increases salt and water excretion, reducing blood volume. The combination provides additive blood pressure reduction.
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice. If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.
Common side effects of Telmevel-H Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Telmevel-H Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not recommended in pregnancy (may harm the fetus), especially 2nd/3rd trimester; avoid if history of angioedema with ARBs. Use with caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt states, heart failure, and in the elderly (risk of hypotension). Monitor blood pressure, kidney function (creatinine), and electrolytes (potassium, sodium); hydrochlorothiazide may increase uric acid (gout) and glucose. Avoid excessive sun exposure; hydrochlorothiazide can cause photosensitivity.
