Telmisartan (40mg)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); reduction of cardiovascular risk in high‑risk patients when appropriate.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks AT1 receptors, causing blood vessels to relax and lowering blood pressure, which reduces strain on the heart and helps protect kidneys in susceptible patients.
Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water; do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Common side effects of Telvo 80MG Tab may include:

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Telvo 80MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Contraindicated in pregnancy—can harm the unborn baby. Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt states, heart failure, and in elderly. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and serum potassium, especially after starting or dose changes. Risk of hyperkalaemia; avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. Not recommended with aliskiren in diabetics; use caution with bilateral renal artery stenosis.
