Symptomatic relief of dry cough associated with common cold/upper respiratory tract allergy; may help reduce cough reflex and relieve associated nasal symptoms (runny nose, sneezing) where prescribed.
This is typically a cough-and-cold combination syrup. An antitussive suppresses the cough centre in the brain to reduce dry cough, while an antihistamine reduces allergy symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose and may provide drying effect on secretions.
Shake well before use. Take the measured dose using a measuring cup/spoon as prescribed by the doctor. Can be taken with or without food; if stomach upset occurs, take after food. Avoid exceeding the recommended dose and avoid using with other cough/cold medicines unless advised.

May cause drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Do not use in children except on medical advice. Use with caution in glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, asthma/COPD, liver disease, and in elderly. Do not use for persistent cough due to smoking/asthma or cough with excessive phlegm unless advised. Seek medical help if symptoms persist >3–5 days, high fever, rash, breathing difficulty, or worsening cough occurs.
