Torsafe 10 mg Tablet contains Torasemide (10mg). It belongs to the Loop diuretic (sulfonamide-type) class of medicines.

How Torsafe 10 mg Tablet works

Torsemide is a loop diuretic. It blocks sodium and chloride reabsorption in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, increasing urine output and reducing excess fluid and blood pressure.

How to take Torsafe 10 mg Tablet

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily (preferably in the morning) with or without food. Avoid taking late in the day to prevent nighttime urination; follow doctor’s dose adjustments and monitoring advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Torsafe 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Warnings and precautions

Excessive diuresis can cause dehydration and fainting; avoid driving if dizzy. ACE inhibitors/ARBs (additive hypotension), other antihypertensives, NSAIDs (reduced diuretic effect/kidney risk), lithium (increased lithium toxicity), digoxin (arrhythmia risk with low potassium), corticosteroids/amphotericin B (more potassium loss), aminoglycosides/cisplatin (increased ototoxicity risk), other diuretics

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and light. Keep in original strip and out of reach of children.

Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate. Monitor your blood pressure after starting Torsafe 10mg Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Consult your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that does not go away. Take potassium supplements or a potassium-rich diet (such as bananas, spinach, or coconut water) as Torsafe 10mg Tablet can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration. You may be asked to get regular blood tests done to monitor your kidney function.
