Torsepure 20 mg Tablet contains Torasemide (20mg). It belongs to the Loop diuretic class of medicines.

How Torsepure 20 mg Tablet works

Torsemide is a loop diuretic that blocks sodium and chloride reabsorption in the ascending loop of Henle in the kidneys. This increases urine output and reduces excess fluid and blood pressure.

How to take Torsepure 20 mg Tablet

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily in the morning to avoid nighttime urination. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Seek help for severe weakness, confusion, fainting, very low urine output, hearing changes, or allergic reactions (sulfonamide-related).

Other diuretics, ACE inhibitors/ARBs, NSAIDs (may reduce diuretic effect and affect kidneys), lithium (toxicity risk), digoxin (arrhythmia risk with low potassium), aminoglycoside antibiotics (ototoxicity risk), corticosteroids/amphotericin B (increase low potassium risk), antidiabetic medicines (may affect glucose control)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate. Monitor your blood pressure after starting Torsepure 20mg Tablet, and notify your doctor if it does not lower down. Take potassium supplements or a potassium-rich diet (such as bananas, spinach, or coconut water) as Torsepure 20mg Tablet can decrease your potassium levels and lead to dehydration.
