Versitol Retard 200 Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

How to take Versitol Rtd 200

Use it as advised by your doctor or check the label for directions before use. Versitol Retard 200 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

Warnings and precautions

Never stop or change an anti-epileptic on your own. Stopping abruptly can cause prolonged, dangerous seizures. Sodium valproate and divalproex must not be used by anyone who is pregnant or could become pregnant unless a specialist has confirmed there is no alternative — they cause serious birth defects and developmental problems. Effective contraception is essential. Seek urgent care for any rash, especially in the first weeks — a rash with fever, blistering or peeling can be life-threatening. Do not take Versitol Rtd if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Valproate-containing medicines are contraindicated in pregnancy for epilepsy unless no alternative exists, and in all women of childbearing potential without a pregnancy prevention programme. Several are not suitable in significant liver disease.

Interactions with other medicines
