Vildagliptin (50mg)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (to improve glycaemic control) as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medicines (e.g., metformin, sulfonylurea, insulin) along with diet and exercise.
Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). This enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion and reduces glucagon release, helping lower blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used alone.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor, usually once or twice daily. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day and continue diet/exercise plan. Do not double the dose if a dose is missed.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Vilbetes 50MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with caution in liver disease; liver function tests may be needed before and during treatment—stop and seek care if jaundice/dark urine occurs. Use caution in renal impairment and in elderly; dose adjustment may be required based on kidney function. Rare risk of pancreatitis—seek medical help for severe persistent abdominal pain. If used with sulfonylurea/insulin, risk of hypoglycaemia may increase. Inform doctor about history of heart failure; monitor for fluid retention/shortness of breath.
