A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet contains Metformin (500mg) + Voglibose (0.3mg).
Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet SR is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet SR should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Voglimin-M than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Voglimin-M are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Voglimin-M. Some combinations can change how Voglimin-M works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Voglimin-M below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxious feeling. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while taking this medicine. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting or stomach pain as Voglimin-M 0.3 Tablet SR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
