Saan Lab Llp - Tablet - 10 S
Prescription required
Voglibose 0.2 mg
Volibose 0.2 Tablet is used for type 2 diabetes mellitus (post‑prandial/high after-meal blood glucose control), used along with diet, exercise and/or other antidiabetic medicines.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Volibose 0.2 Tablet contains Voglibose 0.2 mg. It belongs to the Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor class of medicines.
Voglibose is an alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor that delays digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. This reduces the rise in blood glucose after meals and helps improve overall glycaemic control.
Tablet for oral use. Usually taken just before the start of each main meal (or with the first bite of food) as prescribed. If a meal is skipped, skip the dose. Follow diet/exercise advice and monitor blood glucose.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Volibose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Volibose than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Volibose are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

For type 2 diabetes only; not for diabetic ketoacidosis or type 1 diabetes. Use with caution in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction/ulceration, chronic intestinal diseases, severe renal impairment, or liver disease. Risk of hypoglycaemia increases when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas—treat low sugar with glucose (dextrose) rather than sucrose/table sugar. Monitor blood glucose and, if advised, liver enzymes.
Insulin, sulfonylureas and other antidiabetics (increased hypoglycaemia risk), intestinal adsorbents (e.g., activated charcoal) and digestive enzyme preparations (may reduce effect), other drugs that can affect glycaemic control (e.g., corticosteroids, thiazide diuretics, thyroid hormones)
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
