A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Volini Spray 100 g. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Volini Spray 100 g contains Diclofenac Diethylamine 1.16% w/w (equivalent to Diclofenac Sodium 1% w/w) + Methyl Salicylate 10% w/w + Menthol 5% w/w + Linseed Oil 3% w/w. It belongs to the Topical NSAID with counter-irritants class of medicines.
Diclofenac is an NSAID that reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Methyl salicylate and menthol provide counter-irritant cooling/warming sensation that helps reduce pain perception. Linseed oil acts as an emollient and supports soothing effect on affected area.
For external use only. Shake well and spray on the affected area from a short distance; allow to dry and gently massage if advised. Use 3–4 times daily or as directed by a doctor; wash hands after use. Avoid use on broken/irritated skin and avoid contact with eyes, mouth and genital areas.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Volini as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Volini than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Volini are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Consult doctor (use with caution; avoid especially in late pregnancy unless prescribed) |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | No known interaction (topical); use with caution if skin is irritated |
| Habit forming | No |
External use only. Do not apply on open wounds, infected/eczema-affected skin, or under occlusive bandages/heat pads. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, allergy, swelling or breathing difficulty occurs. Use with caution in people with aspirin/NSAID allergy, asthma, or history of hypersensitivity to topical products. Avoid prolonged use over large areas; consult a doctor for children, elderly, or if symptoms persist beyond 7–10 days.
Usually minimal with topical use; however, avoid combining with other topical NSAIDs/salicylates on the same area. Use caution if on anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) or other NSAIDs due to potential additive effects if excessive topical use/absorption occurs.
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep container tightly closed; protect from moisture. Do not puncture or expose the spray can to high heat/flame; keep out of reach of children.
