How Voxamin-50 works

Voxamin 50 Tablet is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms of depression and also relieves symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorders.

How to take Voxamin-50

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Voxamin 50 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Voxamin 50 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Voxamin-50 than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

It should be taken at night with or without food. Take caution while taking Voxamin 50 Tablet if you are using Benzodiazepines and MAO inhibitors previously. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how Voxamin 50 Tablet affects you. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor. It can take 2-3 weeks for Voxamin 50 Tablet to start working. Do not stop treatment suddenly as this may cause upset stomach, flu-like withdrawal symptoms and sleep disturbance. If your doctor asks you to stop Voxamin 50 Tablet, you should reduce the dose slowly over 4 weeks.
