Composition of Zerodol SP Tablet

Zerodol SP Tablet contains Aceclofenac (100mg) + Paracetamol (325mg) + Serratiopeptidase (15mg). It belongs to the NSAID (aceclofenac) + Analgesic/antipyretic (paracetamol) + Proteolytic enzyme (serratiopeptidase) class of medicines.

How Zerodol SP Tablet works

Aceclofenac is an NSAID that reduces prostaglandin formation, thereby decreasing pain and inflammation. Paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic action via central mechanisms. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that helps reduce inflammatory edema and swelling.

How to take Zerodol SP Tablet

Take as advised by a doctor. Typically taken orally after food with water; do not crush/chew unless directed. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration; avoid taking with other paracetamol-containing products.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal liver damage, often with no symptoms at all for the first day. It can seriously suppress the bone marrow and damage the liver. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Zerodol SP are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer/bleeding, severe heart failure, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs. Use with caution in history of ulcer, bleeding disorders, kidney/liver impairment, asthma, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and in the elderly. May increase risk of GI bleeding, kidney injury, fluid retention and cardiovascular thrombotic events with prolonged use. Stop and seek care if black stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, yellowing of eyes/skin, or allergic reactions occur. Do not exceed total daily paracetamol limits; avoid prolonged self-medication.

Do not take Zerodol SP if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not for people with severe liver disease, except under medical supervision. Not for people with an active serious infection, or with severe liver or bone-marrow disease. Several of these medicines must not be used in pregnancy.

Interactions with other medicines

Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel), other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, SSRIs/SNRIs, alcohol (increases GI bleed risk), ACE inhibitors/ARBs and diuretics (kidney risk), lithium, methotrexate, cyclosporine/tacrolimus, digoxin; other paracetamol-containing medicines (hepatotoxicity risk)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

You have been prescribed this combination medicine for relieving pain and inflammation. Take it with food to avoid getting an upset stomach. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how Zerodol Sp Tablet affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Zerodol Sp Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage. Do not take it with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.
