Short-term treatment of anxiety disorders, anxiety associated with depression, panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia)
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This reduces excessive neuronal activity, producing anxiolytic and calming effects.
Take by mouth as prescribed by the doctor, usually 1–3 times daily. May be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Swallow tablet whole with water; do not abruptly stop—taper under medical supervision.
Common side effects of ZOLAX 0.25 10`S may include:
Prescription-only benzodiazepine; risk of dependence, tolerance, misuse and withdrawal—do not stop suddenly. Can cause sedation and impaired driving/operating machinery. Use caution in elderly, liver disease, respiratory disease (COPD/sleep apnoea), history of substance use disorder, depression/suicidal thoughts. Concomitant use with opioids or other CNS depressants can cause profound sedation, respiratory depression, coma or death.
