Alprazolam 0.25 mg
Short-term management of anxiety disorders, panic disorder (with or without agoraphobia), anxiety associated with depression (as prescribed)
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine that enhances the effect of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This produces a calming effect, reduces anxiety, and helps control panic symptoms.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed by the doctor, preferably at the same time each day; may be taken with or without food. Do not increase dose or stop suddenly—tapering is required to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
Common side effects of ZOLAM 0.25MG TAB may include:
Prescription-only benzodiazepine; may cause dependence, abuse and withdrawal—use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Can cause sedation and impaired alertness; avoid driving/operating machinery. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal, seizures). Use with caution in elderly, liver disease, respiratory disease (COPD/sleep apnoea), depression or suicidal ideation, and history of substance use disorder. Seek urgent help if severe sleepiness, breathing difficulty, or allergic reaction occurs.
