Used to treat high cholesterol (hypercholesterolaemia/mixed dyslipidaemia) when diet and exercise alone are not enough; helps reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and lower cardiovascular risk in appropriate patients.

How Zyrova Ez 40 Tablet works

Rosuvastatin is a statin that inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol production in the liver and increasing LDL clearance. Ezetimibe blocks intestinal absorption of cholesterol by inhibiting the NPC1L1 transporter. Together they provide stronger LDL reduction than either alone.

How to take Zyrova Ez 40 Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Continue diet and lifestyle changes; do not stop without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Zyrova B 180mg/40mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Zyrova Ez than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Zyrova Ez 40 Tablet

Most side effects of Zyrova Ez are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Headache
• dizziness
• nausea
• abdominal pain
• constipation
• diarrhoea
• muscle pain (myalgia)
• weakness
• increased liver enzymes

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Use with caution in liver disease, heavy alcohol use, hypothyroidism, kidney impairment, older age, or history of muscle disorders; risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis—seek care for unexplained muscle pain/weakness especially with fever/dark urine. Monitor lipid profile and liver enzymes as advised.

Interactions with other medicines

Cyclosporine, gemfibrozil/other fibrates, niacin (high dose), protease inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir combinations), warfarin/other anticoagulants (monitor INR), antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (may reduce rosuvastatin levels), bile acid sequestrants (reduce ezetimibe absorption—separate dosing), colchicine

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle pain. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems, such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine, or yellowing of skin or eyes. They may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. If you are diabetic, monitor your blood sugar level regularly, as Zyrova B 180mg/40mg Tablet may increase your blood sugar level. Lifestyle changes, like a low-fat and salt diet, exercise, not smoking, and cutting down on the amount of alcohol you normally drink, may help this medicine work better.
