For intravenous use only. Reconstitute the vial with sterile water for injection and administer as slow IV injection or further dilute and give as IV infusion as directed by a doctor. Dose and duration depend on infection severity, renal function, and local guidelines; complete the prescribed course.
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, urticaria, injection site pain/phlebitis, headache, dizziness, oral/vaginal candidiasis, elevated liver enzymes
Do not use if allergic to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe hypersensitivity reactions. Use with caution in hepatic impairment; monitor liver function if prolonged therapy. Dose adjustment may be needed in renal impairment. Risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea/colitis (seek care if severe or bloody diarrhoea). Prolonged use may cause superinfection. Inform doctor if history of infectious mononucleosis (higher rash risk) or if on anticoagulants.
Warfarin/acenocoumarol (may increase INR), allopurinol (increased rash risk), probenecid (increases amoxicillin levels), methotrexate (reduced clearance/toxicity risk), mycophenolate mofetil (reduced active metabolite exposure), oral contraceptives (possible reduced efficacy; advise backup).
Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light. Use reconstituted/diluted solution immediately or within the time limits recommended in the package insert; do not freeze diluted solutions unless specified by manufacturer.
