Amoxicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and extending its antibacterial spectrum.

Amoxicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, thereby protecting amoxicillin and extending its antibacterial spectrum.
For IV use only. Reconstitute the vial with sterile water for injection as directed and administer by slow IV injection or IV infusion. Dose and duration depend on infection severity, kidney function and patient age/weight; use at evenly spaced intervals. May be given irrespective of food (parenteral).

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to penicillins/cephalosporins or history of severe allergic reactions. Do not use if there is a history of amoxicillin/clavulanate–associated cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction. Use with caution in liver disease; monitor liver function in prolonged therapy. Dose adjustment may be needed in renal impairment. Risk of severe skin reactions and antibiotic-associated colitis (seek care if severe/persistent diarrhea). Use only for suspected/confirmed bacterial infections to reduce resistance.

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, protected from light and moisture. After reconstitution, use immediately or within the time specified in the product label; do not freeze reconstituted solution.
