Betaloc 100 Tablet contains Metoprolol Tartrate (100mg). Prescription required.

High blood pressure (hypertension), Angina (chest pain), Heart failure (stable chronic heart failure), Prevention of heart attack and improvement of survival after myocardial infarction, Control of fast heart rate/arrhythmias (as advised by doctor)

Metoprolol is a selective beta-1 blocker that reduces the effect of adrenaline on the heart. It slows the heart rate and decreases the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and reducing the heart’s oxygen demand. This helps prevent angina and improves symptoms in heart failure.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily for extended-release tablets. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Tiredness, dizziness, slow heart rate (bradycardia), low blood pressure, cold hands/feet, headache, nausea, shortness of breath, sleep disturbances

Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina/trigger heart attack). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask low blood sugar symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, low heart rate, heart block, and severe heart failure. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. Inform your doctor before surgery/anesthesia.

Verapamil, diltiazem, amiodarone, digoxin (risk of slow heart rate/heart block), clonidine (rebound hypertension on withdrawal), other antihypertensives/diuretics (additive BP lowering), insulin and antidiabetics (masks hypoglycemia), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), antidepressants like fluoxetine/paroxetine and other CYP2D6 inhibitors (increase metoprolol levels), adrenaline/other sympathomimetics (reduced effect or BP changes)

Store below 25°C, in a dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
