Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia (including nutritional deficiency, pregnancy/lactation, growth spurts, chronic blood loss) when oral iron supplementation is advised.

Oral iron replenishes body iron stores and provides elemental iron required for hemoglobin and red blood cell production. This improves oxygen-carrying capacity and helps correct anemia symptoms over time.

Oral suspension: shake well before use and measure with a dosing cup/spoon. Usually taken once or twice daily as prescribed; preferably on an empty stomach for better absorption, but may be taken with food if it causes stomach upset. Avoid taking at the same time as दूध/चाय/कॉफी, antacids, calcium or zinc supplements; keep a 2-hour gap.

Nausea, abdominal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, dark/black stools, metallic taste, teeth staining (with liquid iron)

Use only under medical advice in children and during pregnancy. Not for anemia not caused by iron deficiency (e.g., hemolytic anemia, thalassemia) unless prescribed. Overdose of iron can be dangerous/fatal in children—store out of reach. May cause dark stools; this is usually harmless. Use caution in patients with peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or history of iron overload (hemochromatosis/hemosiderosis).

Antacids, calcium salts, zinc, magnesium salts (reduced iron absorption), tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (mutual absorption reduction—separate by 2-4 hours), levothyroxine (reduced absorption—separate by 4 hours), penicillamine (reduced effect), methyldopa (reduced effect), bisphosphonates (reduced absorption), tea/coffee/milk (reduce absorption).

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep bottle tightly closed; do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
